New Jersey Skateparks: Fanwood

Fanwood NJ is near Plainfield.  This rich town fought against a skatepark for years, but it's finally here.  So stop with the stickers, graffiti and garbage.  If they don't like the affect it's having, they'll remove it, believe me.  They did that in Fort Lee.  Police also patrol and tell you to leave if you're not wearing a helmet.

Another Spohn Ranch NJ plaza open now.

New Jersey Skateparks: Bayonne

Concrete park open now!  The old pre-fab park is still there, consolidated into the BMX area.  So there are kind of 2 parks.  Not as crowded as you may think, go visit!

New Jersey Skateparks: Long Branch

The old Long Branch NJ skatepark is no more!  They left the original concrete bowl and replaced everything else.   Spohn Ranch continues to be the most common build company is NJ.  They do quality work in terms of construction, but some of their designs seem really odd.   For example, the quarter pipes have literally a 6-inch wide deck, so you have to keep your balance just to stand on top of them.  It's definitely a step up from the old park though.  Go there!

New Jersey Skateparks: Ocean City

Ocean City's sick new park is now open!  Spohn Ranch designed the park.  They are also responsible for the new parks in Colonia, Elizabeth, Passaic and Sea Isle City (for better or worse).  It's just too bad it's so far from most of us in Jersey.

There are apparently some issues going on there now with allowing non-skateboarders, as well as helmets and full pads.  Hopefully they will end these policies soon.

New Jersey Skateparks: Elizabeth - Holland Park Playfield

Elizabeth still has another skatepark at Mattano Park.   This one opened in 2013, and is usually bursting to the seams with skateboarders.   Go at an off-peak time if you want to enjoy it.
